One particular year when I was about 6 or 7 we did our usual and went to the Pleasure Beach. I was now getting interested on going on more than the Ladybirds so my big sister, who is 5 years older, suggested The Ghost Train.
It was good fun, with all the usual hokum you expect from a ghost train until something touched my hair, like three fingers doing a 'Stan Laurel' on my head. I immediately accused my sister of trying to scare me as nothing was there and the visibility was reasonably good at this point in the ride. She then turned to me at exactly the same time and accused me of doing the same.
So we come off the ride with our parents waiting on us coming out to tell them how much we'd enjoyed it, instead we are arguing like cat and dog with each of us convinced we had done it to each other and denied it. With a clip round the ear for both of us it was soon forgotten............
.....until about two years ago when I was watching Most Haunted at the Pleasure Beach. Three of the crew went inside and then started to describe how they felt like someone was touching/rubbing their hair with three fingers!!! " seconds later the phone rings and it's my sister "Are you watching Most haunted?!!"
Now I'm a bit of a cynic when it comes to all that sort of stuff, but it seemed strange to me that they described exactly what we had experienced nearly 20 years previous. Apparently, it's thought the Ghost Train was haunted by an ex-worker, who likes to cause mischief by frightening the customers a bit more than they bargained for.
Anyone else experienced this? Or is it just me?
